walking thru the veil of Samhain w the goddess
Samhain an ancient doorway to our inner worlds
In 2017 I stood on the hill of Tara in Ireland on the night of November 1st beneath a nearly full Hunter’s Moon. an Irish female shaman was my guide. we had to gain safe passage thru some tricky self appointed gatekeepers. they spoke Gaelic and tho I couldn’t understand their words, it was apparent by Her stance and their foreman’s intimidating presence, these gatekeepers could either be friendly or menacing. regina is widely known and respected for her love, knowledge and sacred work w the land. the man soon realized who she was and gifted us w carved bog wood necklaces and unencumbered passage. we honored his gifts w a cash exchange. I still have mine. she told me we would be fine to venture on in the dark w the only light from the moon above. we walked up the path and thru the kissing gates that opened onto holy land; a crumbling monastery its longtime sentinel, its just as ancient graveyard where its monks were laid to rest. she invited me to stand against a large standing stone and feel its energy, which ran up and down the stone and my body. she taught me to always ask the land, the animals, and the Divine for permission before crossing thru any gate or threshold. as we walked across the top of that hill of Tara, I stood beneath the moon and gazed across the land and valleys in reverence. a wind came up out of nowhere and swirled around me like an embrace. it then kissed me on my left cheek w such love and intention I put my hand on my cheek as tears dropped from my eyes. it was stunning. it was Her. it was the Goddess. She was welcoming me home.
